District Council 47 Members,

The rally on Thursday, June 18, 2009, was a great success due to your participation. We cannot thank you enough for showing support for your community, and your union. We would also like to thank the volunteers who helped give out t-shirts and water, as they enabled the rally to move smoothly with no problems. It was a great day to be a proud public employee.

With this being said you must:

• Understand that this is just the beginning of the fight for a fair and just contract.
  • “Stay tuned” for future City employee actions.
    
• Pay attention to updates after all negotiation sessions.
  • The first session with the City will take place this week (week of 6/22).
    
• Expect to get documents filled with misinformation from the City.
  • Contact the union whenever you receive any of these types of materials.
• Regularly check D.C. 47’s website at: www.dc47afscme.org for announcements about future rallies or contract updates.

We hope that you will continue to support District Council 47, as you all are what make this union strong and powerful. Together we can reach a fair and just contract. Thank you!
